Southern Cross School of Distance Education

Providing quality distance education since 1995

Single course enrolment

Students in Years 9 to 12 who can't access a subject at their own school and where a local solution isn't available, may be able to enrol in distance education.

Students must meet eligibility criteria for the subject to be studied. School enrolments are generally on a quota basis.

Information

Information about studying a single subject at Southern Cross is available in our Single course provision (PDF 893KB) booklet.

Some things a student's home school agrees to provide include:

  • a suitable space for distance education lessons
  • access to required technology
  • access to all required textbooks
  • supervision and monitoring of work.

Applying for a single course

Enrolment forms (PDF 471KB) must be completed by the home school and approved by the principal. Forms must be completed in full and course fees paid before applications are processed. Payment must be transferred by the home school – personal cheques are not acccepted.

Continuing students

Each year a continuing enrolment form must be completed for students moving from Year 9 into Year 10 or from Year 11 into Year 12.

Private schools must include payment for continuing students.

Language students

In addition to the enrolment form, language students must complete the following declarations for NESA.

For more information about studying languages in Years 11 and 12, visit NESA eligibility for Stage 6 languages courses.

Leavers

If students choose to drop the subject they are studying through distance education, they must complete the Leaver's form (PDF 110KB).
