Any student who's unwell or has cold or flu-like symptoms should be tested for COVID-19. A negative test result must be presented before returning to school. This can be demonstrated with a screenshot of the negative test result message.
Anyone with the following symptoms should be tested.
- fever
- cough
- sore throat
- shortness of breath
- runny nose
- headache
- muscle or joint pain.
Free COVID-19 testing clinics and GP respiratory clinics are available thorughout the region for people with mild to moderate respiratory symptoms.
- NSW Health COVID-19 clinics are in Tweed Heads, Byron Bay, Lismore, Grafton, Woolgoolga, Coffs Harbour, Macksville, South West Rocks, Kempsey, Port Macquarie and Wauchope.
- GP-led respiratory clinics are at Murwillumbah, Ballina, Casino, Yamba, Nambucca Heads, Kempsey and Port Macquarie.
- COVID-19 testing is also available through private pathology providers on the North Coast with a GP referral.
