We provide flexibility for student learning, offering online lessons for quick submission and feedback on learning.

We use the learning management system, Canvas, to teach most of our courses.

NSW Department of Education student portal

The department provides students with a portal interface to access the most important features to help their online learning.

Students can access:

  • school email
  • calendar
  • school library
  • My Links to bookmark useful links
  • search 

All distance education students must use their school email (@education.nsw.gov.au) to communicate with their teachers. School email must be checked daily.

Some of the online programs students can access through their portal are:

  • Microsoft 365 including
    • OneDrive
    • Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • OneNote
    • Teams
    • Class Notebook
  • G Suite for education including
    • Google Drive and Google Docs
    • Google Classroom
    • Google Forms
    • Google Sites
  • Zoom

Free software for use at home

Public school students are entitled to download a range of free and discounted software to use at home. This includes programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and so on.

To download free software for student use at home, visit On the Hub. Students will need their portal email and password.
